Devmudraa – a movement school , ( regd.) Aurangabad - Member of International Dance Council, UNESCO, Paris
The school was started in September 2007 in Aurangabad and is affiliated to Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Miraj/Mumbai.
The school hosts three main dance festivals every year :
- Samskriti – a festival of classical dances inviting professional dancers from all over the world in all classical dance forms.
- Celebrations – International Dance Day Celebrations , Culmination of two month long workshops for women and children in April every year on 29th April.
- Annual Dance Festival – Students of Devmudraa perform curriculam based pure Bharata Natyam performance as per their syllabus on the auspicious day of Vijaya Dashami every year in October.
Apart from the above, there are monthly performance series called Pratibha inviting very young and amateur dance artists and students to perform all classical dance forms. Giving an opportunity to the aspirants to explore and gain confidence as a performer.
The School’s aim is to spread the movement of dance and give training in both practical and theoritical aspects of dance keeping with the international standards.
The School conducts series of workshops in schools, colleges, women organisations as part of awareness programmes of dance and culture in schools, organisationas and colleges.
